Ways in which you can volunteer your time to Hospice Services of Lake County:
- Provide companionship to hospice patients and families
- Provide relief support to patient’s families
- Run errands for patients and families
- Provide bereavement support to individuals and families
- Provide Hospice Thrift Shop support
- Provide community outreach support
- Provide clerical and administrative support
- Provide fundraising support
As a patient care volunteer you support:
- The palliative (comfort) care for patients
- Respite for the patient’s family
- Becoming a patient’s last best friend
(Specialized training and ongoing support provided)
As a bereavement volunteer you support:
- The grieving process for families and friends
- Wings of Hope children’s bereavement camp
- The bereaved in carrying out daily activities
- Facilitation of bereavement support groups

As a thrift shop volunteer you support:
- Cashier and bagging services
- Flower arranging, holiday packaging, greeting card sorting
- Many thrift store activities can be done in your own home
As a clerical/administrative volunteer you support:
- Mailing and filing
- Answering phones
- Data entry
Volunteers are needed with special skills in the areas of:
- Massage therapy
- Art therapy
- Music therapy
- Movement therapy
- Dream therapy
- Hair stylist/barber
